The Department of Posts is taking a significant step towards digital transformation with the release of the beta version of the Digital Postal Index Number (DIGIPIN). This initiative, in collaboration with IIT Hyderabad, aims to create a standardized, geo-coded addressing system across India. What is DIGIPIN?
DIGIPIN is a National Addressing Grid that will serve as a robust foundation for Geospatial Governance. By incorporating a logical naming pattern, it allows for precise and directional address identification. This innovative system is expected to:
